About ‘babyam’
==============

‘babyam’ is the shared workstation of the CMU MAC lab[0]. To request an account,
send an email to the MAC group <macenter@andrew.cmu.edu> (or to the admin,
if you happen to know who it is) with your desired user name and your SSH public
key included.

If you do not know what a SSH public key is, you may check the guide[1] by
GitHub on how to generate such a key pair, and then copy the contents of the
‘id_ALGORITHM.pub’ file into the email. *Be sure to check the existence of
‘.pub’ extension before copying.*

Once you log into the system, please read through ‘/srv/mac/public/ABOUT.txt’
for a short introduction of the machine configuration and a guide on how to use
it. If you are a MAC lab member, be sure to also read ‘/srv/mac/README.txt’ for
some information of the shared data storage device.
